The launch of Yidio, a new video search engine start-up, shows that investors feel there is still an opportunity to earn market share in video search. Yidio is a division of 2ten Media and debuted in the beginning of June. The San Diego based search engine indexes content from video portals such as YouTube as well as from media outlets (including CNN, ESPN, HBO, and Fox) and even local TV stations. Learning is a fundamental and highly adaptive function in human beings. More than any other species, humans are designed to be flexible learners and active agents in how we go about acquiring knowledge and skills. Yet much of what people learn happens without any formal instruction.
Think about it. When we’re kids, we learn not to put our hands into the fire by (a) putting our hands into the fire, or (b) watching someone else put their hand into the fire. When we’re teens, we have plenty of time to cogitate over what not to do and how not to do it ever again—while we’re grounded. When we’re young adults, we learn what not to do from watching Jackass DVDs.
The fact of the matter is, we learn from observation; it’s a fundamental part of the human condition. And now that we’ve evolved into search engine marketers extraordinare, sites like Search Engine Land and events like SMX provide critical venues for us in our ongoing quest for knowledge, wisdom, and self actualization.

which we think will make it easier for people to find the vast amount of
content we have here and publish each day. Our design and development spec
is all set. Now it’s just time to find a company or companies to help us
make it a reality. While we have a short list in mind, we wanted to put out
a public invite to anyone who reads us and thinks they’d be perfect for the
job. Interested? Read on…
