More Talk on Microsoft Acquiring Yahoo

November 9th, 2007 by

Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer knows how to blow the hot air and use evasive methods to feed the media misinformation when on the acquisition trail; like calling Facebook a fad only one month before investing $240 million in a 1.6% stake in the company to secure an advertising deal.

On Monday, Ballmer used his Jedi mind tricks to cast off reporter questions about the possibility of Microsoft acquiring Yahoo:

Asked if Microsoft was interested in buying Yahoo Inc, Ballmer said: “My answer is a considered ‘no comment’.”

“We want to succeed in the online advertising space. What happens with Yahoo, we’ll all have to wait and see.”

Wait and see? Sounds to me like Microsoft does still have an interest in Yahoo’s search technology, advertising arm, eBay partnerships and online entertainment & social portal. But will they follow the Facebook scenario for a stake in the company, or go for the whole acquisition?
